2015 Bollinger "La Grande Annee" Brut, Champagne, France
ABOUT THIS WINE
La Grande Année is crafted only in exceptional vintages, made from the finest Grand and Premier Cru grapes. The grapes are, specifically, an assembly of 11 crus, mostly in Aÿ and Verzenay for the Pinot Noir (61% ) with Chouilly and Oiry for the Chardonnay (39%). The season was especially outstanding across the region - after steady rainfall early in the summer, warm, dry temperatures prevailed in August and September.
Vinified exclusively in small, old oak barrels using a rare artisanal tradition preserved by Bollingerâs master cooper. This method elevates each vintageâs character with remarkable finesse. After an extended period of lees aging under natural cork, every bottle is still riddled and disgorged entirely by hand. A jewel of the Maison, La Grande AnnĂ©e is a pure expression of Bollingerâs excellence and a testament to the enduring Art of Craftsmanship.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Founded in 1829 by Jacques Joseph Bollinger, the Comte de Villermont and Paul Renaudin, this Champagne House remains one of the last independent family estates in the region. Located in Aÿ in the Marne valley, Bollinger is now led by Charles-Armand de Belenet under the ownership of the Bizot family. The House is distinguished by its traditional methods, notably aging in oak barrels and malolactic fermentation. Its vineyard includes prestigious plots such as "La CÎte aux Enfants" as a monopole, demonstrating its excellence in crafting exceptional champagnes.
