ABOUT THE WINE
Sourced from the wind-battered, sandy soils of Kick On Ranch in Los Alamos, this Pinot Noir is shaped by extreme diurnal shifts and persistent coastal influence. The vineyardâs unique terroirâhigh elevation, silica-rich sand, and a cool microclimateâproduces grapes with naturally low pH and slow ripening, perfect for a wine of clarity and nuance.
Tatomer fermented the 2022 vintage with partial whole clusters and native yeasts, followed by aging in neutral oak barrels. The approach preserves freshness and aromatic lift while allowing the vineyardâs inherent minerality to shine. This is Pinot Noir at its most transparentâlight in color but deep in detail. Serve with duck breast, grilled salmon, or wild mushroom tart.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Tatomer was founded by Graham Tatomer, a Santa Barbara native with deep winemaking roots in Austria, where he trained in the Wachau before returning to California. While best known for his benchmark Rieslings and GrĂŒner Veltliners, Tatomer brings the same laser focus and minimalist approach to his Pinot Noir and Syrah.
Farming practices prioritize sustainability and site expression, with hands-off vinification that allows vineyard character to take the lead. The âKick On Ranchâ Pinot Noir is a standout in Tatomerâs small red wine portfolioâan elegant, ocean-sculpted wine that reflects Grahamâs deep respect for terroir and subtlety.
