ABOUT THIS WINE
The âArmance B.â cuvĂ©e, named after Brochetâs grandmother, is Ampelidaeâs flagship sparkling wine made in the traditional (mĂ©thode traditionnelle) style with secondary fermentation in bottle and extended lees aging of around 18 months. ABOUT THIS PRODUCER
Ampelidae, founded by FrĂ©dĂ©ric Brochet in the HautâPoitou region of the Loire Valley, is an organic estate renowned for its thoughtful terroir-driven approach. Brochetâan oenologist and university wine researcherâworks biodynamically long before conversions, using regenerative organic methods (certified AB/ECOCERT) to farm low-yield, old-vine plots on clay, limestone, and flintârich soils like chalk and tuffeau.Â
Ampelidaeâs ethos centers on innovative yet minimalâintervention winemaking: using stainless steel or concrete for fermentation, never overâsulfuring, and embracing aging in eggs or amphorae for other cuvĂ©es. Though Armance is fermented and aged in stainless and bottle only, it reflects this broader philosophy of purity, precision, and terroir expression.
